Attorney David L. Giersch always knew his involvement in the arts would complement his law practice. His well-rounded education has prepared him to take a comprehensive view of clients’ needs and give their estate plan or contract the attention to detail necessary to cover every eventuality.
A Wisconsinite born and raised, David L. Giersch grew up in Thiensville, where he spent his childhood summers reading Tolkien and singing in church choirs. After attending Homestead High School, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory & History and Japanese Language & Culture. During his time at Notre Dame, David sang with the Notre Dame Chorale, the Schola Musicorum, and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra.
After graduating in 2021, he returned to his home state and spent a year substitute teaching and taking the LSAT. David then moved to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin Law School as a Law In Action scholar. He tailored his legal education to estate planning and contract drafting, in addition to practicing public interest law at the Neighborhood Law Clinic.
During his second year of law school, he began drafting estate plans and contracts for Attorney Andrew Rosenberg here at Grieve Civil Law. David’s work experiences in law school impressed upon him the importance of meeting clients where they’re at and going in with an open mind and a drive to help. He learned the value of a lawyer who not only knows the law, but can clearly and graciously explain it. As an estate planner, David works closely with clients to translate their desires for their property into robust, readable legal expressions that will stand firm against all kinds of pressure.
During law school, David fell in love with the city of Madison because of its natural beauty, its iconic establishments, and its community’s singular pride. He is a local book club participant and member of the Perfect Harmony Chorus. His community involvement also extends to the Milwaukee area, where he plays keyboard in a blues/rock cover band, and serves as treasurer of the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Milwaukee.
